The Benta-Valley Kennel takes its name from the valley of the Benta Stream, the natural environment that surrounds the kennel and forms the backdrop of everyday life. This setting not only inspired the kennel’s name but also reflects the philosophy behind its breeding programme: preserving working ability, quality, and the defining characteristics of each breed remains at the heart of everything we do.
The kennel is built on decades of experience with dogs. The owner has been involved in dog training since the age of fourteen, and working dogs and hunting dog training have been an integral part of daily life for many years. In addition, the owner is actively involved in animal welfare and works closely with several public benefit organisations on a daily basis.
Quality is the fundamental principle of our breeding programme. Great care is taken in planning each mating, with particular attention given to health, sound temperament, and suitability for work. This approach is supported by the owner’s doctoral degree in animal breeding, as well as extensive professional knowledge and practical experience in the fields of genetics and animal breeding.
Benta-Valley Kennel currently breeds two breeds: the English Working Retriever and the Alpine Dachsbracke. All breeding females in the kennel meet strict health, conformation, and working test requirements. In the case of the Alpine Dachsbracke, hunting ability is of particular importance, and therefore the selection of breeding pairs is carried out according to the highest professional standards.
The goal of the kennel is to breed dogs that not only possess an excellent genetic background but also demonstrate their capabilities in practice, whether in hunting work, sporting activities, or an active family life.
